Our Flood Forecasting Approach

Forecast Rainfall
Ingest 0.25 Degree resolution rainfall forecast from Global Forecasting System (GFS)

Rainfall-Runoff
Application of SCS-Curve number method and then Unit Hydrograph method to generate excess runoff
03.
Conveyance
Route excess runoff through python-based hydraulic model to get inundation and flood depth rasters

Overlay GIS layers
Overlay data layers like administrative, population for detailed analysis

Result Analysis
Evaluate model outcomes against observed conditions and performance metrics, and data presentation

Validation and Improvement
Refine and improve model performance, then iterate process
